Mrs. Thompson grew up in Pike County, Georgia. She attended Valdosta State University where she received a Bachelor of Science in Special Education with a concentration in Deaf Education. Mrs. Thompson is certified in Elementary Education, Special Education General Curriculum, Special Education Adaptive Curriculum, and holds a Reading Endorsement, Dyslexia Endorsement, and English as a Second Language Endorsement. 

Mrs. Thompson began teaching in 2017 and joined the Houston County School District in 2021. She has taught first grade from 2017 to 2020 and special education since 2020. This year begins her 8th year teaching. 

Mrs. Thompson is married with two step-children and two dogs. Outside of teaching, she enjoys traveling, spending time with her family, listening to music, playing board games, and reading.
