Bio

Mrs. Kaitlyn Thompson is entering her ninth year of teaching, with a passion for supporting diverse learners and creating inclusive classroom environments. She began her career as a paraprofessional. Since then, Mrs. Thompson has served as a first-grade teacher for three years, an interrelated special education teacher for two years, and a self-contained special education teacher for the past three years.

Mrs. Thompson holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Special Education with a concentration in Deaf Education from Valdosta State University. She is certified to teach Elementary Education, Special Education General Curriculum, and Special Education Adaptive Curriculum, allowing her to meet the needs of a wide range of learners. In addition, Mrs. Thompson holds endorsements in Reading, Dyslexia, and English as a Second Language (ESOL).

Throughout her career, Mrs. Thompson has worked with students from a variety of demographic and cultural backgrounds. She brings a deep commitment to equity, communication, and student growth to her classroom each day.

Outside of the classroom, Mrs. Thompson is a wife to her husband, Timothy, and is a proud stepmom to two boys. Mrs. Thompson also enjoys traveling, reading, and spending time with her family and two dogs.
